16 bed care home facility providing a specialist residential service.
Opened 1985, The Dexters provides a specialist residential service that is individually tailored for adults with enduring and complex mental health issues and/or learning disabilities. The home operates 24/7 x 365 by a well trained and experienced team of professionals.
The Dexters residential service is designed for individuals who require a high level of support and supervision in a therapeutic community setting, with the goal to increase our Residents independence as part of an individual recovery pathway program supporting Resident’s to reach their full potential, enabling some to move back into the wider community, with varying degrees of support.
The Dexters is located centrally in York, within walking distance of the City Centre and York Hospital, and conveniently located for Clifton Moor Retail Park and York Train Station. The compact walled city has hundreds of attractions including, museums, historic buildings, tours, shops, restaurants and cafés, ensuring there are always plenty of social activities on offer.
The Dexters is also in walking distance of our partnership charity ‘The Hut’, which provides purposeful activities and learning opportunities for its members.
Amitola Communities cares for and supports adults with varying needs, including enduring and complex mental health issues and learning disabilities. We provide this support in the form of residential care homes and supported living services.
