St Brigas Residential Home
St Brigas Residential Home is a care home which currently provides 24 hour care and an internal activity Day Centre for 15 adults with learning difficulties. We aim to support service users daily needs and care for adults helping them endure happy lives and assist them in accessing the community regularly. Activities vary and include inhouse as well as community-based activities.
Our management and staff team seek to be continually responsible to the changing needs, wishes and outcomes of the people whom we support. We are responsive to the improvements required to maintain the quality of our service.
St Brigas is a spacious and comfortable Victorian home situated in the quiet conservation area within Clevedon , it has beautiful views over the Severn Channel and Clevedon . At the front of the house is a park for the use of residents in Jesmond Road. St Brigas has a front garden laid to lawn, flower beds and a gazebo where there are benches and garden furniture for relaxation. At the back of St Brigas we have a sensory garden where our service users also like to relax and look at the features we have in it, there is a seating area surrounding a relaxing water feature and a swing at the end of the garden. Jesmond Road is centrally situated in Clevedon and is within walking distance from the sea-front , shops, parks, cinema and local swimming pool.
St Brigas is a three storey house with fifteen well furnished bedrooms, nine with en-suite, there are bathrooms near all of the bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground-floor and are suitable for wheel chair use. The bedrooms are decorated to reflect the individual choice and personality of our residents.
Due to individual needs we have two bathrooms with walk in baths and another wet room located on the ground floor.
The entrance porch leads into the ground floor where there is a conservatory, dining area, office and kitchen. There is also a quiet room where residents can pursue their hobbies and individual activities that they enjoy. The second floor has bedrooms, bathrooms a laundry room and separate toilets. The top floor has one bedrooms, staff bedrooms, an office and a shower room. All hallways leading to these floors are well lit with hand rails to assist less able clients. All our rooms are safe guarded by an up to date fire alarm and emergency light system that meets all health and safety standards. All rooms also have an emergency call system.
A full programme of leisure activities are arranged for our service users using local amenities in the area, there are a range of clubs which some of our service users attend during the week in and around Clevedon which are run by other organisations. Our service users are encouraged to use local amenities to support our economy. They also have the choice to attend services at our local church according to their religious persuasions. We use our own transport for special trips for their pleasure and entertainment. Service users who wish also have annual weekend and day breaks of their choice organised for them and accompanied by their key workers or a staff member. We offer a three months trial period to see if we can cater for your needs.
Timetables are updated 6 monthly or inline with service users changing needs, goals and outcomes are set and reviewed encouraging personal development for individuals.
