Shaldon House

Shaldon House staff provide 24 hour care and specialise in supporting people who have learning disabilities by respecting individuals Rights and Choices and including each individual in the management of their home, and their life events.

Shaldon House strives to build on peoples skills and confidences and helps to promote their independence which helps each individual to reach their full potential.

Shaldon and the team work together to build a personal preference plan of care, encouragement and support to develop personal skills.

We have lots of other training to ensure we are all professional in our approach to keeping people safe. This is ongoing and ever changing to ensure a safe environment for people to live and work.

We have a small dedicated staff team working at Shaldon House who do a fantastic job supporting people. This could be helping and guiding you with everyday needs or assisting with College placements, trips out for lunch, to the local markets or one of the shopping malls or parks, local to our home.

Staff know and understand the unique needs of each person being supported and will be key working, mentoring and supporting you to reach your full potential enabling you to make life choices.

If you have behaviour which may be viewed as challenging, then staff will support you to manage your behaviour by putting strategies and additional care plans in place for you to minimise things which could cause you or others distress. Staff can help you to learn new skills and will support you to maintain and build on the skills you have already.

There are always staff available and we have a waking member of staff each night.
