Roselands Residential Home

Roselands Residential Home is a care home for up to 35 older people (aged 65+) that require support and personal care. The home, owned by Pleasantly Limited, is situated in several hundred acres of beautiful surroundings on the outskirts of a village called Brede (located eight miles north of Hastings and four miles west of Rye).

We pride ourselves on delivering care which is personalised to reflect an individual’s needs, wishes and aspirations. We understand that some residents who join the home may have increasing levels of frailty and we are there to support them, not just physically, but on an emotional level too.

We also appreciate that a person’s health needs may change throughout their stay and so we ensure that not only the individual staff member (key worker) assigned to the resident is responsive to their needs, but all members of staff have a collective responsibility to ensuring an individual’s care needs are met on an ongoing basis.

We support every guest to live in a warm and comfortable environment. The home is divided into four zones and colour-coded accordingly: rose wing (pink), sunflower wing (yellow), orchid wing (white) and lavender (purple).

Every resident is allocated a key worker and their care will be overseen by a manager. This key worker will ensure a holistic care plan is devised for every individual, which will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Some people may require extra support during this vital transition period. For example, it will be important for some guests to bring with them treasured items, momentos and small pieces of furniture from their previous homes. Other guests may prefer to start afresh. Whatever the decision we will provide our full support.

All rooms at Roselands Residential Home offer wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and every room has a telephone point and flatscreen TV (with freeview). Additionally, there is a large cinema-style TV screen, which is used in a communal area to screen vintage movie afternoons.

There is a nurse call unit in all rooms and communal areas – at the home we pride ourselves on a responsive service 24/7. We know how important and reassuring this is to both the resident and their families.

Residents may enjoy reading a selection of daily newspapers delivered in the privacy of their own room or one of the communal lounge areas (there are three), the conservatory, or library.

There is a weekly ‘in house’ shop for personal items and regular visits from a visiting hairdresser, chiropodist and clergy. If a resident needs to attend a hospital or doctor’s appointment a member of staff can accompany them.
