Philip Cussins House

Philip Cussins House is a small, warm and welcoming place. It is supported by the Jewish Community in Newcastle and welcomes and respects residents of all faiths or no faith.

It’s staff under it’s manager Louise Forster, is second to none in giving residents loving care and attention and, whether you are in your 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or over, dedicated to make life worth living. Philip Cussins House also helps you to renew old friendships and make new ones without the loneliness and shortcomings that can sometimes be associated with Home Care.

It is in the nature of the building that all our bedrooms are different in size and aspect. We will always try to meet individual choice when the situation allows.

We have lovely 22 bedrooms; 18 of these are for single occupancy and 4 larger bedrooms can accommodate married couples or partners who wish to live together by choice. These larger rooms are available for single occupancy but at a somewhat higher weekly charge.

Many of the rooms are South-facing and overlook Linden Road, West Road and our surrounding gardens. Most have en-suite facilities with shower, and bathrooms and a wet room are also available.

There is ample wardrobe space and usually residents can bring with them small treasured items of furniture, family photos, paintings, bric-a-brac and plants to help them feel at home.

TV, radio and broadband are all provided, but we ask our residents to moderate the volume control in the interests of other residents.

While meals are served to residents in the dining room, they can ask for meals to be served in their room if circumstances warrant it.

We endeavour at all times to respect individual privacy and dignity.
