Elm Farm Residential Home
Elm Farm Residential Home is a private residential home catering for 12 elderly frail ladies. Under the personal supervision of Brian and Jean Parry, the resident proprietors, we offer a high standard of care in a friendly, homely environment.
Built around the turn of the century, when Walsgrave was still a village outside the Coventry boundary, Elm Farm was the original traditional solidly built farmhouse.
It is close to a Post Office and newsagent, and the parish church of St. Mary’s in Walsgrave village is close by also Walsgrave Baptist Church, who perform a monthly in house service. We are on a regular bus route.
We are of course, fully registered with Coventry City Council.
About Elm Farm Residential Home
Elm Farm Residential Home offers modern comforts in traditional surrounding. We have a spacious lounge with television, and a cosy visitors’ lounge which opens on to a large atrium, giving residents’ and visitors a ‘Mediterranean’ courtyard all year round.
For those who like to read, there is a library with a wide range of books including many large print editions regularly exchanged by the local library. There is also a pay phone for residents’ use.
The beautiful dining room has a real log/coal fire, lots of old photographs and china and leads out onto a patio and garden.
Facilities
All bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard. Those rooms without en suite are close to a bathroom. All rooms are fitted with emergency call points and smoke detectors.
Although a television is provided in the main lounge and library, you may have your own set installed in your bedroom if you wish. And if you would like a newspaper or magazine, we will gladly arrange for them to be delivered.
Telephones may be installed in bedrooms at client’s request.
Stair lifts are fitted to both staircases for those who cannot manage the stairs.
Professional Care
Elm Farm Residential Home boasts excellent staff retention, investing in, developing and motivating our staff compliment. All our Care Workers and Domestic staff are regularly reviewed, appraised and trained to a standard that assures the high quality of support they are able to provide residents. This ensures staff are able to meet the needs of clients in a professional, caring and understanding manner. The Resident Manager is accredited with NVQ 5 and Registered Managers Award to ensure the smooth running of the home. Trained staff are available 24 hours a day.
