Charlotte James is a beautiful Victorian house that was converted into a care home some years ago. The home is approached through a long tree lined private drive off Shobnall road, Burton upon Trent.
It is set in extensive grounds consisting of lawns and woodlands within easy access to Burton town centre and Derby.
Philosophy of Care
Our aim is to treat our residents with utmost respect and dignity. Whilst independence and choice is encouraged, residents own wishes are important to us. Staff will give every assistance to the residents to make their stay and experience a pleasant one.
We work closely with relevant professionals and relatives to ensure coordinated service and care. Visiting is actively encouraged and any suggestions to improve our service or complaints will be treated constructively by the owner and the management.
Short or Long Term Stay
We sympathise with the trauma involved in going into care and would therefore like to make this as pleasant an experience as possible.
Accordingly we provide short term care, if required, so that prospective residents can try our facilities and care before deciding on a long term stay. It is also possible to come and stay a day with us without any commitment.

Charlotte James Care Home Facilities
There is a choice or single or double rooms, most en-suite, all bedrooms have individual furniture and TV sets. There are up to date electronically controlled beds and call bell systems in all bedrooms, along with different sitting areas and a separate dining room, with a daily menu displayed on the wall. Residents are helped in and out of the day areas subject to their needs.
A passenger lift, grab rails, wet rooms and an assisted bathroom with lifting aids to give our residents all the help they require.
Qualified nursing and care staff provide high standards of care around the clock and in addition we have a chef, visiting hairdresser, domestic laundry and activities staff.
There are 3 main lounge areas throughout the home and residents may chose which one they like to spend their day in. In line with their independence and care program s they may chose to spend time in their bedrooms.
There are pleasant walks and outside sitting areas to take advantage of good weather.
