Rose Cottage Nursing Home
Rose Cottage Nursing Home is a privately owned registered nursing home located in the old town parts of Swindon. With rooms for 21 residents Rose Cottage is a full service nursing home with registered nurses and care assistants compliment with ancillary staff.
With daily activities for the residents and numerous events and special occasion celebrations. Rose Cottage Nursing Home makes sure its residents are happy and comfortable in a homely environment that they can feel independent and their needs are met with dignity along with the highest standard of care.
Bedrooms
Rose Cottage has 19 single rooms and one double bedroom. All bedrooms have a vanity basin facility with hot and cold water. All rooms have central heating and emergency nurse call system.
Rooms are comfortably furnished and residents are encouraged to personalise their room with pictures, ornaments, etc and their favourite armchair. Residents have access to their rooms as they desire, and unrestricted use of all communal areas in the building.
Dining Room
Homely and comfortable with a choice of menu each day. Home cooked meals are provided to a high standard, with fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Individual and special dietary requirements are also catered for.
Living Room
We have three lounges which are comfortably furnished and have a television and other audio equipment for residents’ use.
Meals
Meals will be varied and favourite dishes and special diets can be catered for. Service Users are encouraged to eat in the dining room. Tea, coffee and other hot drinks are available for service users and their visitors throughout the day.
Facilities
All bathrooms and toilets have disability aids fitted for comfort and safety, enabling you to maintain your level of independence and privacy. There is a passenger lift to access the upstairs bedrooms in Rose Cottage Nursing Home and wheelchair access to all areas.
We operate an open visiting policy for relatives and friends wanting to see resident, provided of course that the resident is in agreement. This can either take place in the communal lounges or in private in the resident’s own room. If any relatives/visitors wish to stay for meals during their visit they are very welcome to do so but we would ask that this be notified to the Manager/Nurse in Charge beforehand for catering purposes.
Chiropodist and hairdresser services are available and these are charged for and Tea and coffee are freely available throughout the day.
Smoking and Alcohol
The Home has designated smoking area. With regard to alcohol, Service Users will normally make their own arrangements, but, with smoking residents may need to be supervised.
Activities
Monday- Friday there is an activity organiser that posts up daily activities within the home. The activities vary from games, outings, pampering, exercise, arts and crafts, Karaoke, music, dancing, films, bingo and reminiscence. These activities could be in a group or one to one as in accordance to the individual service user’s needs. We also have church services monthly with in the home.
Musical entertainment is held in the home at least every two months; more for special occasions.
