We provide around-the-clock care and support for persons aged 65 and over, including individuals that may have a physical disability or who live with Alzheimer’s or Dementia. If you or your loved one is looking for superb and loving care with daily spiritual support, our home could be the answer.

Here at Melbourne Home we have a highly skilled team of staff who have the knowledge and skills to carry out their roles and responsibilities to the highest standards. It is important to all staff at Melbourne Home that everyone is treated equally and with dignity, respect and compassion.

We offer care and support to persons over 65 years including those individuals that may have a physical disability and those people living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Melbourne Christian residential home was originally established in June 1980 to provide accommodation for members and friends of Melbourne Hall Evangelical Free Church, Leicester. Click here to visit the church website.

The home is a registered charity set up under trust deed uniquely linked to Melbourne Hall. In June 2005the Home celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a Service of Thanksgiving to God for his goodness and faithfulness in the work here.

The Home now offers residential care to others from like-minded churches that have an understanding of our Christian beliefs and values. The building has 17 rooms and is beautifully situated on the corner of London Road and Springfield Road, Stoneygate and is on the main bus route into the City centre.

The generous plot provides adequate parking facilities to the front and an enclosed garden to the rear. Additionally, there is a comfortable lounge, a separate sun lounge and a dining room area. Each new resident who comes to stay at Melbourne Home will have a Person Centred Assessment. This will ensure that all aspects of their health and wellbeing are focused around their individual requirements, choices and decisions.

It is important that we encourage residents to actively take part in their own care planning process. Where support is required we encourage families to participate in this. This process will ascertain the level of care and support required which will be reviewed regularly to maintain the highest possible standards to achieve a positive outcome.

Melbourne Home has all the required resources necessary to support residents’ living safely and purposefully. This care and support empowers each resident and helps maintain a daily independence. The staff to resident ratio outweighs the required regulatory standards and we pride ourselves in being able to spend quality time with each individual.

Meals

At Melbourne Home we recognize the importance of nutrition and hydration and the benefits of a healthy balanced diet which provides for any specific dietary needs. We know how important the atmosphere of the environment should be and the opportunity for our residents to socialise during meal times. This promotes a healthy wellbeing which is encouraged by our staff. Our Chef provides daily nutritionally balanced meals to suit all dietary and health requirements of individuals. Our residents are encouraged to take part in making choices and decisions on menus that are in place. Light refreshments are available throughout the day. Families and friends are able to join their loved ones for meals or afternoon tea for a small charge.

Quality Assurance

At Melbourne Home we have a listening ear and we like to receive feedback whether positive or negative so we can reflect on our practice and continue to maintain and improve the service we provide.
